New Term, New Skill.....Jewellery Classes Belfast!

Happy Monday friends. We are now into the middle of September and are waving the kids off to school. So, it’s time we think of ourselves and maybe do something new – just for you! A new skill maybe?

At the Belfast school of Jewellery we have you covered. We offer 3 different jewellery classes routinely. What I love most about teaching jewellery is that most people come into the class knowing they would like to learn how to make jewellery but for some reason don’t expect to like what they make ….. I guess it’s that we know that practice makes perfect and so why should it look good on first attempt? Well, all I can say is the best part of the class is watching everyone’s smiling faces at the end and seeing how proud they are of themselves because their jewellery looks amazing and they made it! So, if you think jewellery making is for you or maybe you think you know someone that would love it, why not read on for more information!

Silver clay classes. This is a fun day…..

Surely you can’t make silver jewellery from clay? I think that’s what drew me to silver clay all those years ago, I didn’t believe it. But I am here to tell you yes you can make silver jewellery from rolling out clay. Ok so there is a bit more to it than that but not much. The clay is made from recycled fine silver, it is blended with water and a chemical which makes the clay. All we have to do is cut, shape, roll, texture to the desired shape we want, dehydrate it to get the water away (if not, you end up with a water bubble or two ….I can show you as one day I rushed my pieces through to catch a TV show lol lesson learnt and well now we have catch up so not a good excuse – not that it ever was a good excuse lol) then sand it before firing it. After firing a little more polishing and Voila – your silver jewellery! This class is a full day from 10am to 4pm (approx.) and you never see the time go. It is so much fun.

Beaded jewellery classes….

Are you a magpie? Do you love collecting sparkly beads or non-sparkly beads … just any beads? Then this class is for you. During this class you will learn the essentials for beading. Everything is supplied on the day including the beads (believe it or not, choosing the beads is the hardest part of this class). You will go home with a handmade necklace and earrings. This course runs on Wednesday evenings from 7pm-9pm and is such a chilled out class. Not only do you go home with jewellery you made yourself but also feeling very relaxed!

New: sea glass wire wrapping classes….

Sea glass has been my obsession now for a few years and I just want to share it with you all. I’ve introduced this class to not only share this obsession but a new technique as well. Wire wrapping is very pretty and you can make up lots of different styles. All you need is the basic knowledge. In this class I go through two different styles one for earrings and another for a pendant. If you love these techniques, then you can book in again for more wire wrapping classes using different styles. This class also runs from 7pm to 9pm on a Wednesday evening.

We also offer group classes for parties such as hen parties, baby showers and birthday’s etc. All you need to do is drop me an email and we will see what we can make happen for you. Also if my timings don’t suit why not get in touch to see if we can find a time to suit us both?

Well that’s all for this week folks, I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and will tune in again next week.
